Daisy Demapan is an Indigenous Chamorro writer, poet, and advocate for social justice from the CNMI. She has served on the board of the Commonwealth Women’s Association, the Northern Marianas Descent Corporation, the Rotaract Club of Saipan, and the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Alliance. She is an alumna of the University of Guam with a background in journalism, public relations, and mass media. She provided production assistance under the Guam Educational Radio Foundation through KPRG 89.3 FM Radio for Beyond the Fence, which focused on issues surrounding militarism within the Pacific region.

For the past decade, she has been involved in numerous community projects and public policy initiatives, including the establishment of the CNMI’s first substance abuse, addiction, and rehabilitation center and efforts to combat invasive species under the CNMI Office of the Governor. She completed graduate work in psychology with an emphasis on systems, marriage, and family therapy and worked as a substance recovery coach and counselor in a clinical setting.
She is a published poet in three Pacific anthologies and believes in increasing research literature on the Indigenous Peoples of Oceania as a way to reduce health disparities and strengthen cultural resilience.
