Fostering Artistry,
Honoring Ancestry
Fåha’ Digital Media (FDM) is a cultural organization in the Mariana Islands dedicated to storytelling by, for, and about the people of the Marianas. We believe storytelling is a powerful tool for preserving and celebrating indigenous culture, ensuring Pacific voices are heard in the digital age.
Mission
FAHA Digital Media is a 501(c)(3) and CNMI tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and amplifying Marianas voices and stories by offering training, financial support, and a platform to talented storytellers interested in taking the Marianas digital.
Vision
A thriving Marianas where every story is shared, every voice resonates, and cultural practices and language fluency enrich our daily lives.
The Goal of FAHA
By nurturing and supporting Marianas storytellers during the fåha’ (adolescent / sprouting) stage of their careers, we help them grow into vital contributors to the tree of Marianas life, stories, and culture.
As a Pacific Islander storytelling hub, we challenge dominant narratives that overlook or misrepresent our islands. Our goal is to showcase the Marianas as vibrant homes with rich cultures, histories, and ecosystems — not just geopolitical pawns.
Meaning Behind our Logo
The icon of the fåha’ is the ancient Chamorro drawing of the young coconut tree with a fåha growing inside. The drawing represents growth and creation.
The island of Farallon De Medinilla is incorporated into the logotype. We wanted to include this element based on the acronym of Fåha Digital Media (FDM).
